Celebrating 40 Years
The Irwin family officially opened the Beerwah Reptile Park in 1970. Back then, the park consisted of four acres, a few species of wildlife and a small caravan - which the Irwin's called home. No one could know what the future held for this small zoological facility.
Forty years on, Australia Zoo is an internationally renowned, 70 acre wildlife and entertainment mecca - home to over 1000 animals and Australia's Number One Tourist Attraction!
2010 marks the 40th year anniversary of Australia Zoo, and you're invited to celebrate with us. The crew at Australia Zoo continues each day to build Steve's dream- come check out the size of it!
